    ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN BIG AWARDS

The BIG Awards is Campaign US’ creative awards program that invites the future of the ad industry to participate in identifying this year’s most strategic and inspiring work.

Unlike other creative award programs, the BIGs are evaluated by a jury of up-and-coming creatives with three to five years of experience.

The program is not just unique, but it includes emerging talent in setting the standard for commercial creativity – and therefore surfaces fresh perspectives in the work.

Creativity is changing for the better — becoming more diverse, democratized and global.

The Awards will bring together the U.S. advertising creative community to celebrate top work in the last year and inspire us for the future.

You’ll also be featured in a content series surrounding the judging panel on campaignlive.com, and in a video compiled for the awards celebration in November.

We are looking for young professionals who want to develop long-term careers in creativity and advertising, who have a desire to learn from senior leaders how to evaluate creative work, and who aren’t afraid to tell those leaders their own views on creativity and what makes award-winning work.

    - Be available for virtual judging the week of September 12th. Exact dates TBD

A LETTER FROM THE CAMPAIGN US EDITOR

The advertising industry relies on awards programs because they are one of the only solid means to judge creativity. There’s no good way to quantify a warm and fuzzy feeling or a gut reaction to an amazing piece of work. Awards also generate healthy competition that makes work better.

But they can also be performative and, without enough thought put into them, continue to nominate the same people and honor the same work. For too long, the same faces have judged and won creative awards. It’s not only stunting the industry’s diversity progress, but plunging agencies into a sea of sameness. Some creatives care more about gaming work to win awards than creating things that people want to see.

Campaign US took a different approach with the BIG Awards. Instead of the same faces and feels, we’re inviting young, diverse talent to judge alongside a small group of senior peers. Creativity is changing for the better — becoming more diverse, democratized and global. Why not invite the future generation of creatives to help us shape the standards by which we judge great work?

We also hope this program can elevate new, diverse faces in the industry, and agencies can look to this incredible jury as a fertile ground for recruiting diverse talent.

Let’s celebrate creativity and get inspired for the future.
